Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, almost in all countries consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food which is produced in all over the world. It is a very positive thing that we can buy anything we want from all over the world because of fast means of transportation. This is the positive development but also these development have some negitive aspects.
In developed countries, they can import food from all over the world to fullfil the needs of consumers. So, the consumers have the facility to buy things which is not grown in his own countries. For example. In pakistan, mangoes are available only in summer but in supermarkets these are available in all seasons. This is possible because of the advance transportation.
There is also a few negative things about that food which can be imported form different countries. There are some chemicals which is used for the preservation of food for long time can harm the health of peoples and also this can be a reason of cancer.
In my opinion, there is a some countries in which basic food cannot be grown locally and they can be totaly depended on the imported food. For example, In middle eastren countries, agricalture cannot be possible because of nature so, the consumers can buy food from supermarkets.
In conclution, this is a very good thing for consumers that they can buy all the basic things in different packaging like meat, fruit, vegetables, etc can be store in cool places and other things like dryfruits and grain are in packaging. The most common food which can be imported are dryfruits, grains and spices.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that international food availability is positive, while acknowledging possible health risks and the importance of imports in places where local agriculture is difficult. The examples of seasonal mangoes in Pakistan and food imports in Middle Eastern countries are relevant. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the preservation-chemical concern is asserted without explaining how it relates to imported food, and the conclusion shifts to packaging and lists products rather than reinforcing your evaluation. The opening also says the development has negative aspects, but the essay does not weigh these against the benefits. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation and keep the conclusion focused on why the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Paragraphing generally helps the reader identify the main topics, and phrases such as “For example” signal supporting detail. However, progression between ideas is uneven: the paragraph about countries unable to grow food locally appears after the health-risk paragraph without a clear link to the main argument, while the conclusion introduces packaging and product categories that have not been developed earlier. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, including “This is the positive development but also…” and “So” at the start of a supporting explanation. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s role, connect examples explicitly to your position, and make the conclusion summarise the argument rather than add new points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “import,” “preservation,” “consumers,” and “agriculture.” There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “fast means of transportation” and “basic food.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less precise, for example “negitive,” “fullfil,” “form,” and “totaly depended.” Some expressions are awkward or repetitive, such as “buy food from all over the world” and “things which is not grown.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and choose precise terms for the ideas you discuss. For instance, distinguish food being available year-round from food being available “in all seasons,” and use “preservatives” when referring to substances added to food.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “food which is produced…” and a reason clause beginning “because of.” These structures help convey examples and explanations, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “these development have,” “chemicals which is used,” and “food… can be store,” where agreement or verb forms are incorrect. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “there is a some countries” and “For example.” followed by a fragment-like continuation. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and the correct verb pattern after modal verbs. Use full stops and commas to separate complete clauses clearly.
