Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you consider worldwide supermarket food a negative development, while briefly acknowledging convenience as a benefit. The response addresses both the positive and negative sides and gives relevant reasons, including possible health effects and pressure on local farmers and businesses. However, the health argument is not fully precise: the task concerns food from around the world, but the essay often treats imported food as necessarily processed, old, or unsafe. The economic point is relevant, though claims that local businesses will collapse and the whole nation will suffer need a more specific example or explanation. Develop these points more carefully and distinguish imported fresh food from processed products to make the argument more convincing and fully supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on shopping convenience and health, a paragraph on local economic effects, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow your main position. You also use signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In the conclusion.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “With the positive impact i think there is so many negative development” does not clearly set up the contrast, and “In this cause” is an unclear link to the preceding point. The first body paragraph also shifts from convenience to food safety without a smooth transition. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each explanation directly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “preservatives,” “local farmers,” “raw materials,” and “employment,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but inaccurate word choice, spelling, and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “a huge curse to our life,” “native farmers,” and “increase their business”; more natural choices would be “a serious drawback,” “local farmers,” and “expand their businesses.” Several misspellings, such as “negetive,” “inporting,” and “oppurtunity,” also reduce accuracy. Build a reliable range of precise phrases for discussing food safety and economic effects, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “For this reason, the economy…” and a relative clause beginning “where we can search…”. However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms occur across the response and sometimes make sentences difficult to interpret. For example, “Buying food from supermarket have some good sides” needs a plural subject or singular verb, while “food which are produced” has incorrect agreement. The opening sentence also runs several ideas together without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate complex sentences, especially with relative clauses and cause-and-effect links, and check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries during editing.
