Student answer (Band 5.5)
Consumption of food is increasing day by day. Nowadays consumer are going to market and purchase produced food all over the world. I completely agree with the view because it is convenient and people can try different varieties of food from one place.
There are several reasons why buying food from supermarket is convenient. One possible reason is people can have different varieties of food from around the world, which is beneficial for customers because people are getting all thing in one place. Those who are comes from different culture they can enjoy their cultural food. For example, many Muslim people eat can eat pork because of their religious if there are beef for them they can easily consume that. Moreover, we cannot produce every food items in one place, that is why imported food gives us the opportunity to taste other countries food.
Another important reason is buying produced food from supermarket attract more customers by offering wider range of products, while importing companies can create jobs in transportation, storage, and distribution. However, transporting food from one country to another cause pollution, whereas it also creates some problem like rotten food, fruits these are perishable item. Local famers are also suffer because they cannot sell their products. Despite these disadvantages I think benefit will outweigh the drawbacks.
In summary, although there are some drawbacks of supermarket and purchasing food produced all over the world, I think that
it provides consumers with more options and creates economic opportunities, although people should also consider environmental pollution.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that access to food from around the world is positive, mainly because it offers convenience and variety. You also address the opposing side by mentioning pollution, food spoilage and difficulties for local farmers, then reaffirm your view. These are relevant points, but some are less fully developed than others. For instance, the example about religious diets is confusing and does not clearly support the point about cultural food; the claim that imported food creates jobs would also benefit from a specific explanation or example. Develop each main reason with a clearer link to the question and use a more accurate example to make your argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The main ideas are generally grouped sensibly, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “However” and “In summary” help show relationships between points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes uneven: the first body paragraph moves from convenience to cultural food and then to production without clearly connecting each point. The second paragraph combines economic benefits and several drawbacks, making its central focus less clear. Some linking phrases are also mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the contrast rather than bringing the argument together precisely. Give each paragraph a clearer controlling idea and use references that make connections between claims explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “varieties,” “imported food,” “transportation,” “distribution,” “perishable” and “environmental pollution.” This allows you to discuss both consumer choice and wider effects. However, word choice and collocation are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, as in “buying produced food,” “all thing in one place” and “creates some problem.” There are also spelling errors such as “famers,” and some phrases are difficult to interpret, including “if there are beef for them.” These issues do not prevent the overall argument from being understood, but they reduce precision. Choose more natural combinations and check spelling and word forms when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause (“which is beneficial for customers”) and a contrast clause beginning “although.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “Nowadays consumer are going” has a number and verb-form problem, while “Those who are comes” combines incompatible verb forms. In “transporting food … cause pollution,” the subject requires a singular verb, and “Local famers are also suffer” has an incorrect verb construction. Articles and plurals also need attention in phrases such as “every food items.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms and singular/plural consistency, while keeping the complex structures you are attempting.
