Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, in many countries individuals goes to supermarket to purchase food import from all over the world which as some positive impact, such as we can try variety of food that is not avaible in our country, whereas it also have some certain consequence, like local markets are ignored, imports products are frozen with chemicals which affects peoples health. I partly agree with this view because buying products from supermakert has more options which we can easily buy, but it also have negative development.
On the one hand, consumers who are purchasing goods from retail stores have more choices to buy products, which they cannot find in local market. Moreover, import goods have better quality. Not only this, farmers can sell their goods all over the world, so they will earned more money. For instance, peoples can enjoyes mango in winter, or try different types of cheese.
On the other hand, large grocery stores affects local market who does not have much facilitates and pressure will be increased on framers. In addition, it is not good for individuals health beacuse the merchandise import from other countries are frozen with chemicals which is very dangerous. Retail stores products are more expensive. For example, I personally experienced that, I buy some fruits from big stores which badly effects my health.
In conclusion, althought purchasing merchandise from supermarkets have different kinds of options, that we can easily buy from any retail stores, but it has some impact that affects local business, a products frozen with chemicals. In my opinion, governments should povide some balanced approachs, that peoples can easily buy from their countries and it also not affects small buisness.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the issue and give a clear, qualified position: imported food offers more choice, but you also identify risks to local businesses and health. The examples of eating mangoes in winter and trying different cheeses help illustrate the benefits, while your personal experience supports your concern about health. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that imported goods are frozen with chemicals needs clarification or evidence, and the effect on farmers and local markets is not fully developed. Your conclusion recommends a balanced government approach, but it could explain what measures would achieve this. Develop the main reasons more carefully and distinguish clearly between imported food and supermarket products generally.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the overall progression easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, ideas sometimes feel listed rather than connected through explanation. The first body paragraph moves from consumer choice to quality and farmers’ income without showing how these points relate. Some linking is also mechanical, particularly “Moreover” and “Not only this.” References such as “this view” and “it” are not always precise. To improve, organise each paragraph around one central claim, then explain and exemplify it, using clearer references and more varied transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “consumers,” “local market,” “farmers,” “retail stores,” and “merchandise,” and you attempt more specific expressions such as “balanced approach.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, but inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling sometimes make the writing less natural or precise. For example, “facilitates” does not clearly express what local markets lack, while “frozen with chemicals” is an imprecise description of food preservation. There are also repeated spelling errors, including “avaible,” “supermakert,” and “beacuse.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing conventional collocations, such as “food imported from abroad” and “support local businesses.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “products, which they cannot find in local market” and a contrast introduced by “whereas.” These attempts show some range, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors occur in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “individuals goes,” “it also have,” and “farmers … will earned.” The opening sentence is especially difficult to follow because several clauses are joined without clear punctuation, and the final sentence also contains an awkwardly constructed recommendation. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and divide long sentences into clearer units. More accurate control of these structures would make your argument easier to read.
