Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear overall view—“I believe that are this is positive development”—and give relevant reasons, including wider food choice, access to seasonal produce, and jobs created by international trade. The examples of apples, kiwis and pasta help illustrate the point. However, the response addresses the task only partially because several ideas are asserted rather than explained: the claims about improving “country relationships” and food companies’ research or marketing are difficult to follow and are not supported with examples. The conclusion repeats the positive view but adds food vloggers without showing how this supports your argument. The response is 35 words below the required minimum, which also limits the development of your position. Explain each main reason more fully and connect examples directly to it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning with “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. These paragraph divisions and signposts help readers identify the main sections. However, there is not yet a clear progression within the paragraphs. In the first, “On the other hand” introduces another advantage rather than a contrast, and “In addition” is followed by a point that is not clearly linked to the example. The second paragraph moves from jobs and the economy to national relationships, company research and marketing without explaining the connections. Some linking phrases are repetitive or awkward, and the final paragraph introduces a new point rather than drawing the reasons together. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it in sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “produced all over the world,” “international food trade,” “transportation,” “packaging” and “economy.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both consumer benefits and economic effects. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “veriety,” “cousins” for cuisines, “benificial,” and “veriety of test.” Phrases such as “buy anything among the world” and “once a time” are not natural ways to express your meaning. Aim to learn vocabulary in accurate phrases, and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “imported produce” and “consumer choice” would help you express the argument clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a conditional idea beginning “if people have access” and a sentence using “while.” This shows some effort to vary sentence forms. However, many sentences contain frequent grammatical errors, and some are difficult to interpret. For example, “There are many countries recent days, individuals can go supermarket” lacks a clear clause structure and has missing articles and prepositions. “I believe that are this is positive development” has incorrect word order, while “this can help people earn money and improve the economy” is clearer. Sentence boundaries and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “this can help” after a full stop. Practise building complete subject–verb clauses, using articles and plurals accurately, and checking punctuation before adding complex clauses.
