Student answer (Band 6.0)
Our world has become a global village. In present day, customer in a mega mall have a direct access to all type of food items that are being manufactured all around the world. In my view, availability of food stuff from all over the world in a food mart is clearly a positive development for countries.
To begin with, consuming products being imported from number of country increases the competition on the quality of the food; consequently the buyer will have wide range of same product with best quality and subsidized rate. In addition to that, seasonal vegetables and fruits can be accessible throughout the year. In over populated countries, canned food, which have a long shelf life, can engendered to meet the need of the people. Along with that, many people living far away from their countries, can have a taste of their own spices. For instance, asians living in gulf countries always missed their food. However this need is fulfilled by governments by privoiding them their home country food. As the food stuff is being shipped globally this will help in global economic growth.
While critics contend that due to increase in food trading the local market product has expireinced a downfall, fresh vegetables and fruits are still the back bone of the market growth. In addition to that, due to an increase in import; consequently there is tax implication which causes high price of the product.
To conclude, having an access to global food products is a significant development for the country as it provide their residents wide range of comsuming products. But due to increase in the import tax on eating products the prices are increasing vigrously. Policy making bodies should impose stringent regulation on shop owner to regulate food prices in order to provide their citizens a better quality and subsidised food

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider worldwide food availability a positive development, while acknowledging concerns about local markets and higher prices. You address the question with relevant points, including year-round access to produce, food for people living abroad, and possible economic benefits. This meets the task well, and the examples show some development. However, several claims are asserted rather than explained: for instance, the link between imported products and “global economic growth” is not illustrated, and the point about local products experiencing a decline is only briefly answered. To strengthen the response further, explain the effects of these issues with a specific example and make the balance between benefits and drawbacks more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting benefits, a paragraph acknowledging drawbacks, and a conclusion. The progression from advantages to counterarguments is generally easy to follow, and phrases such as “To begin with” and “To conclude” help signal the stages. However, linking is sometimes mechanical or unclear. “In addition to that” and “Along with that” repeat the same function, while “While critics contend…” introduces a contrast that is not fully developed. The final paragraph also combines a summary, a drawback, and a policy recommendation, making its focus less controlled. Use fewer repeated transitions and organise each paragraph around one main point, with clearer links between the claim and its explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “seasonal vegetables,” “shelf life,” “global economic growth,” and “stringent regulation.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “food stuff,” “subsidized rate,” “expireinced a downfall,” and “vigrously” are examples. Some expressions also do not fit the intended meaning, such as “food items that are being manufactured” for food that is grown or produced. Aim for precise, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. Replacing awkward phrases with common academic collocations will make your argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional-style explanation with “which have a long shelf life” and a contrast introduced by “While.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur in articles, agreement, plurals, and verb forms. For example, “customer in a mega mall have” needs a plural subject or matching verb, and “it provide their residents” needs subject–verb agreement. In “canned food … can engendered,” the verb form is also incorrect. Article use is inconsistent in phrases such as “have a direct access.” Review agreement and verb patterns, then proofread each sentence for articles and singular/plural forms. More accurate complex sentences would improve control without sacrificing variety.
