Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is an undeniable fact that nowadays many nations, customer can visit to a supermarket and buy food which is produced by other nation. Although some might consider it negative development, I believe it to be extremely beneficial because it helps to grow economy, availbility of food and also it is globalization.

There are multiple benefits of this development, one of them is contribute in overall economy by trade goods with other nations because single nation cannot able to produce all the necessary food which is not only beneficial for country but also contribute in improving life. In addition, availbility of necessary food is legal right for every individual and nowadays authorities knows the value of trade and their impact on consumer. For instance, government of Pakistan one of the largest exporter of rice and vegatables which exported to many other nations such as europe, asia. As a result, it fullfil the need and avaiability of necessary food in international markets.

Furthermore, another benefit of this development is globalization because when authorities encourage by reducing taxes then international food chain brands open their franchises and share their food products all over the country supermarkets. Customer now easily access to the international food goods. For instance, recently Pakistan initiatives reduced taxes on international brands , which sees profit opportunity by many food chains such as McDonalds, KFC and many other popular brands which aslo help to increase jobs as well as paying minimum taxes contribute to overall country economy.

In conclusion, although some people might consider it negative, i strongly believe that it helps in country economy, ease availbility of food and also encourage international brands to open frachises

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you consider worldwide supermarket food a positive development, and you give relevant reasons involving trade, food availability and international businesses. The examples about Pakistan exporting rice and vegetables and international chains opening franchises help connect your points to real-world effects. However, some ideas are more fully addressed than others. The claim that access to food is a “legal right” is not explained, and the link between imported food and improved living standards remains broad. The discussion also focuses on economic benefits without considering a specific consequence that might explain why some people view the development negatively. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation of how it affects consumers or the country.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate benefits, and the conclusion restates your position. Connectors such as “In addition,” “Furthermore” and “For instance” make the progression easy to follow, and the examples generally appear beside the points they support. To strengthen the organisation further, make the relationship between some claims more explicit. For example, the sentence about food being a legal right moves quickly from availability to government awareness without showing how this supports your argument. Some linking phrases also feel formulaic, and the conclusion repeats the introduction rather than drawing the two main arguments together. Use clearer references and transitions that show cause and effect.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “trade,” “international markets,” “taxes,” “franchises” and “economy,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “overall economy.” This gives you enough range to discuss the topic, but inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear. Examples include “availbility,” “fullfil,” “food goods” and “encourage by reducing taxes.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “it is globalization,” which does not clearly explain the benefit. Aim for natural combinations such as “contribute to economic growth,” “access to a wider range of food” and “reduce import taxes.” Proofread spelling and choose precise expressions rather than repeating “benefit” and “food.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction (“Although some might consider it negative development”) and longer sentences that explain causes and examples. However, errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and verb forms occur across the response. For example, “many nations, customer can visit to a supermarket” has a number and sentence-structure problem, while “single nation cannot able to produce” uses an incorrect verb pattern. In “government of Pakistan one of the largest exporter,” the clause needs a verb and correct agreement. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although your main meaning is generally recoverable. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using subordinate clauses and check articles and subject–verb agreement.
