Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this digital era, people are going to supermarket and purchase food that produced all over the world. In my view, this essay has many advantages and also drawbacks because people can aware about others food instead they may abandon their traditional food.

On the one hand, this trend has many pros because when people are buying food in the supermarket and they can experience a wide varierty of tastes because they are trying every food and they find those food they wanted to eat them lots. For instance, many people keen on the Italian food because they believe this is very delicious and also it is very healthy. In addition, they are learning a lot of method to prepare those food in a home. Furthermore, it gives more knowledge to people because they learn a lot of way that prepare different kinds of food. As a result, they find those way that help them in their life.

On the other hand, this essay has also disadvantages because if a person eating others food every day and they are dwindling their own food. For example, when someone like fast food and they feel good when they eat this so after sometime they bodies do not feel well and also they cannot want to our traditional food. Moreover, their own food demand are less. In addition, they are not aware about how to manufactured it like they cannot saw him.

In conclusion, I believe that this trend has many positive and negative impact because some people can like it and some people are learning about this and also it create sometime health problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question and give a clear overall view that worldwide food availability has advantages as well as drawbacks. Relevant points include trying different cuisines, learning ways to prepare food, and the possibility that traditional foods may become less popular. However, the position is not fully decisive: the question asks whether this is positive or negative, while the introduction and conclusion mainly say it has both effects without indicating which outweighs the other. Several ideas also need clearer explanation. For example, the claim that people may lose interest in traditional food is relevant, but the fast-food example does not clearly show how access to international supermarket products causes this. Develop the comparison and support each main point with a more direct example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with repeated “In addition” and “Furthermore,” and some links do not make the relationship between ideas clear. For instance, the move from enjoying Italian food to learning preparation methods and then gaining “more knowledge” repeats or loosely connects similar points. References such as “those food” and “those way” also make it harder to identify exactly what is being discussed. Group related points, explain their connection, and use clearer referencing to make the argument flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “traditional food,” “tastes,” “healthy,” and “health problems,” and you attempt to express ideas about food culture and consumer choice. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “this essay has many advantages,” where “trend” or “development” is intended, and “they bodies do not feel well,” which does not express the health concern naturally. There are also spelling errors such as “varierty,” alongside repeated use of general words such as “food,” “people,” and “way.” Build a more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and natural word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using clauses with “because,” “when,” and “if,” as well as connectors such as “although” in the overall argument. However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make some meanings unclear. For example, “people are going to supermarket and purchase food that produced” needs more accurate verb forms and an article, while “if a person eating others food every day” lacks a finite verb. In “their own food demand are less,” the subject and verb do not agree. Practise building accurate sentences first, then extend them with subordinate clauses; also check articles, plurals, and subject–verb agreement.
