Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, and you include relevant points about access to international foods, freshness and health concerns, and the effect on traditional cuisine. However, the position is not consistently explained: the opening refers to “merits” and “demerits,” while the conclusion only briefly repeats that benefits are greater. Some support is unclear or insufficiently connected to the question, such as the claim that online delivery takes three to four days, since the task concerns food available in supermarkets. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation and a specific example, and make the comparison between the benefits and disadvantages explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph presenting benefits, a paragraph on drawbacks, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Additionally,” and “However” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from internet ordering to social media, food knowledge, and restaurants without clearly linking these points. Some connectors are mechanical or awkward, and sentence fragments such as “And it has several…” interrupt the flow. Organise each paragraph around one central idea, connect examples directly to that idea, and use referencing and transitions more precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “drawbacks,” “traditional food,” “foreign food,” and “harmful impact.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, for example “benificial sites,” “numereous number,” “cawmine,” and “parshimon.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “food all over the world” when describing imported products and “people are addicted first food.” These issues fit a limited but minimally adequate range: the reader can usually identify your meaning, but must sometimes work it out. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning natural collocations for food, importing, health, and cultural change.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You try to use both simple and more complex forms, including a concession in “Although it has some drawbacks” and a reason clause beginning “that is why.” However, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make the relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “Consumption of food all over the world it is very common” has an unnecessary subject pronoun, while “people can buy anything from any nations” has problems with agreement and sentence construction. There are also incomplete sentences, such as “And it has several…” and “For example.” Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent. Practise building complete subject–verb sentences, then check articles, plurals, and clause boundaries before adding more complex structures.
