Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, supermarkets offer food from many different countries. I believe this is a positive development because different countries can produce wide variety of foods and imported food gives consumers more choice, moreover, they can enjoy seasonal foods from other countries throughout the year. This essay will shed light on the positive impacts and discuss the benificial of this development.
On the one hand, many countries can produce a wide range of food for different markets all over the world. Because of a strong economy and a relationship between a consumer and a producer. For example, countries can sell their food to international markets, allowing consumers to enjoy products from different parts of the world.
Furthermore, imported food gives consumers more choice. Because not every country has a variety of foods available throughout the year. For instance, People in Qatar can buy mangoes imported from Pakistan even when locally grown mangoes are not available.
In addition, people can enjoy seasonal foods from other countries throughout the year. Different countries have different seasons, so certain fruits and vegetables may be available in one country when they are out of season in another.
In conclusion, currently there are many countries who promotes supermarkets for consumers to buy variety of food produced by different producers from all over the world, which I believe has a positive impact and benifical development all over the world and give opportunities to consumers to enjoy food from every part of the world, as well as producers can achieve more economical benefits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider worldwide supermarket food a positive development, and the conclusion restates this view. You give relevant reasons, including greater consumer choice and access to seasonal produce, and the Qatar–Pakistan mango example makes one point concrete. However, the first body paragraph is less fully explained: the claim about countries producing food for international markets is followed by a general statement rather than a developed benefit. The conclusion also introduces producers’ economic benefits without explaining this idea in the main discussion. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with a clear explanation and supporting example, and ensure the conclusion summarises points already established.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. Its progression from international trade to consumer choice and seasonal availability is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore” and “In addition” help identify the points. At times, however, cohesion feels mechanical because each paragraph begins with a linking phrase, while the relationship between some sentences is not fully clear. For example, “Because of a strong economy and a relationship between a consumer and a producer” is a fragment and does not connect smoothly to the preceding claim. The conclusion also combines several ideas in a long sentence. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make each paragraph’s central point more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “imported food,” “international markets,” “seasonal foods” and “consumers,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “positive impacts.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “the benificial of this development” and “countries who promotes supermarkets” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Spelling errors such as “benificial” and “benifical” also reduce accuracy, and “food” and “different countries” recur frequently. Build precision by learning common collocations for trade and consumer choice, checking word forms and spelling, and varying repeated terms where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a sentence explaining that seasons differ between countries. Most of the meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. “Because of a strong economy and a relationship between a consumer and a producer” is an incomplete sentence, while “countries who promotes” has an agreement error. In the conclusion, “which I believe has a positive impact … and give opportunities” shifts from singular to plural agreement, and the long sentence makes the structure difficult to control. There are also inconsistent capitalisation choices, such as “People” after “For instance.” Practise joining dependent clauses to complete sentences and check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries during revision.
