Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, there has been increasing debate about whether buyer can visit to a supermarket and purchase food grown all over the world, in most of the countries at present, is positive development. I largely agree that availability of all types of food at supermarket is very positive improvement, as it is very helpful for consumer in terms of saving time and money.
It could be argued that this idea is not an ideal solution, as it has several negative impacts on the society. First of all, the maintenance cost of supermarket is comparatively higher than the local market. As a result, the prices of goods and products rises. Moreover, in supermarket it is very hard to find fresh items, so purchasers have to sacrifice the raw taste of food.
However, I would argue that having all things in a supermarket has plenty of positive impacts. The reason is that consumers can get everything in a single supershop and they no need to go anywhere else to find their required products. On the other hand, the producers of the goods can sell their items to the supermarket very easily. Furthermore, manufacturer will get proper evaluation of their hard work what they done to produce their goods.
A further reason to support this idea is that people are getting everything in a single place which is very comfortable for them. On top of that, by installing supershop can prevent the spoiling of live foods and can be easier to control the market, as it is a centralized system. As survey was conducted last year regarding supermarket, it was found that about 85% resident of Dhaka city are comfortable to go to supershop and the popularity of this idea is surging unexpectedly.
In conclusion, although it have few drawbacks, the availability of all food items in a supermarket is considered as a positive development because it is beneficial for both consumer and producer.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you largely support the availability of international food, and the conclusion restates this view. You also acknowledge drawbacks, including higher supermarket costs and concerns about freshness, so the response addresses both the positive-or-negative question and gives relevant reasons. However, some support is not fully developed or closely tied to food from around the world. For example, the claim that producers can sell easily and receive “proper evaluation” is not explained, while the Dhaka survey is presented without showing how it demonstrates the benefits of globally sourced food. Develop fewer points with specific explanations or examples, and make the connection to international food explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on drawbacks, two paragraphs supporting your view, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “First of all,” “However,” and “Furthermore” help signal the direction of the argument. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. “On the other hand” introduces a point that continues the positive argument rather than contrasting with it, and the relationship between supermarket convenience and preventing food spoilage needs clearer explanation. The two positive paragraphs also repeat the idea that everything is available in one place. Use referencing and transitions more precisely, and organise related benefits together to create a clearer progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “availability,” “maintenance cost,” “centralized system,” and “popularity.” These choices allow you to discuss convenience, prices, and market organisation. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “raw taste of food,” “proper evaluation of their hard work,” and “live foods.” “Supershop” is also repeated and may not be clear to all readers; “supermarket” would be more appropriate. These issues do not prevent the main message from being understood, but they limit precision and naturalness. Focus on common collocations and choose terms that accurately express the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in the conclusion and a reason clause beginning “as it is very helpful.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “whether buyer can visit to a supermarket” needs an article and a different verb pattern, while “the prices of goods and products rises” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also errors in “they no need to go” and “although it have few drawbacks,” involving verb forms and agreement. Practise articles, agreement, and complete clause structures, then proofread each sentence. More consistent accuracy would make your argument easier to follow.
