Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You recognise that the development has both advantages and disadvantages, and you mention product quality, shopping time and health. However, the task asks whether access to food from around the world is positive or negative, and your position is not clearly stated: the introduction promises to examine both sides, while the conclusion lists pros and cons without deciding which view you support. Several points are also disconnected from the topic. For example, comparing supermarkets with online shopping does not explain the effect of internationally produced food, and fast food is not necessarily imported food. The response is also below the required 250 words. To improve, state a clear overall opinion and develop relevant reasons with specific examples about global food availability, such as choice, year-round access, or effects on local producers.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for positive and negative points, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To commence with,” “On the flip side,” and “In conclusion” help signal these sections. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and the links between claims and the topic are often unclear. The positive paragraph moves from supermarket shopping to online shopping without explaining the connection to food from around the world. The negative paragraph similarly shifts from time spent shopping to health effects. Some transitions sound formulaic, and repeated phrases such as “To be more precise” and “To explain it” do not add much development. Organise each paragraph around one relevant reason, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of vocabulary, including “favourable,” “drawbacks,” “significant,” and “myriad,” and the general meaning is usually understandable. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “multifarious positive points of supermarket and purchase anything” does not clearly express an advantage, while “worth noticable point” and “effect on their health” are awkward in context. Spelling errors such as “producd,” “eleborate,” “puchasing,” and “noticable” are noticeable. Some wording is also repetitive, particularly “positive effects” and “point.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and vocabulary directly related to the question, such as “imported produce,” “food variety,” and “local farmers.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and some longer structures, including a conditional sentence beginning “if consumer go to market” and a contrast clause beginning “although.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction are frequent enough to make parts difficult to follow. For example, “consumer can” needs a plural or an article, “individuals prefers” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “if individuals too much fast food” is missing a verb. The opening phrase “In few nations recently” is also not a well-formed sentence opening. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check that every clause has a subject and verb, and review agreement and article use before submitting.
