Student answer (Band 6.0)
Over the past decade the international food production became more accessible to all consumers ,as every food is mass produced everywhere , this is have negative influence and also positive aspect, this essay will disscuss both sides,as i personnely believe that its a good thing we different type of food avalaible in stores near by.
Countries nowadays import so many goods rom all over the world in whole making the market more competetive and cheaper for the consumers as it have more options and varied products to choose from, some people consider this a bad thing as it could decrease the demand for the local market production and increase inflation where it lead for economic recession , for instance libya even with their enormous production of oil they import all sort of variant food while they abandon the local production to the point where their currency lost half of its value .
on the other hand we can't deny that food produced worldwide is all available at the supermarket next to you that is way cheaper and in high quality too food that you own country can produce or don't have the means to manufacture it so they bring it from another state for example here in tunisia that climate is not suitable for growing the plants that produce banannas whish is tropical fruit and high in demand its cheaper to be brought here than to have produce it locally and it satisfy the consumers .
in conclusion both sides of the topic present the cons and pro of the food production on the world ,as i said before i strongly believe that is a great thing that we have more options and food from different cultures available to us whish can make the market cheaper for the consumer

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the development and make your own view clear: although you mention possible harm to local production, you conclude that international food availability is positive because it offers consumers more choice and lower prices. The examples of Libya and Tunisia help make the discussion relevant. This meets the task well overall, but the two sides are not equally developed: the claim that imports can contribute to inflation and recession is asserted rather than clearly explained, and the Libya example does not fully show how food imports caused the currency’s decline. To strengthen the response further, explain the cause-and-effect links more carefully and develop each main point with specific supporting detail. Your position is present, though it could be stated more consistently and precisely from the introduction onward.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the opposing arguments, and a conclusion that restates your preference. Phrases such as “on the other hand” and “in conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, some sentences contain several ideas joined together, making the progression difficult to follow—for example, the first body paragraph moves from consumer choice to local production, inflation, recession, and Libya without clear transitions between each link. The introduction also promises to discuss both sides but gives a somewhat confusing statement of your position. Use clearer topic sentences, divide long sentences, and make references such as “this” or “it” unambiguous. These changes would make the overall organisation more consistently easy to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “import,” “competitive,” “varied products,” “local production,” and “consumers.” These choices allow you to discuss both economic effects and food availability. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “disscuss,” “personnely,” “all sort of variant food,” and “cheaper and in high quality.” Some repetition of general terms such as “food,” “good,” and “thing” also limits precision. Aim to learn accurate topic-specific phrases and check spelling carefully; for example, “a wider range of products” is more natural than “more options and varied products,” while “at a lower price” is clearer than “way cheaper.” Your meaning is generally recoverable, but more accurate word choice would make it smoother.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “while,” and “where,” and you use a conditional structure in “food that your own country can produce or don’t have the means to manufacture.” However, control is uneven, and some sentence structures are faulty or difficult to process. For example, “this is have negative influence” has an incorrect verb construction, while “it satisfy the consumers” has a subject–verb agreement error. Several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation, particularly the opening and the Tunisia example, which obscures clause relationships. Practise building complete sentences with one main idea, then add subordinate clauses accurately. Check verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries during proofreading; greater control would make your range more effective.
