Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You state a clear preference for this development in the opening and conclusion, and you attempt to give reasons and an example, including access to halal food for Muslims abroad. However, the response only partly addresses the question: several points concern ordering food by phone or restaurant delivery rather than supermarkets selling food from around the world, and the reasons are difficult to follow or support. The contrast about food being expensive or not fresh is also unclear. The response contains 192 words, so it is 58 words below the required minimum; the eight words copied from the prompt are not counted. To strengthen the response, explain two relevant benefits or drawbacks in detail and connect each directly to international food availability.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to organise the response with an introduction, body sections and a conclusion, and signposts such as “firstly,” “secondly,” and “on the other hand” show an effort to guide the reader. However, the ideas are not arranged in a clear progression: the discussion shifts from supermarket food to mobile ordering and delivery, then to food safety and shipping, without explaining how these points connect. The repeated “there is a two main reason” structure is also mechanical, and some references, such as “he” and “it,” are unclear. Use one paragraph for each main reason, begin with a clear topic sentence, and use linking phrases only where they express a genuine relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “supermarket,” “halal food,” “expensive,” and “fresh,” and you attempt phrases such as “positive development” and “deliver order.” However, the range is basic and repetitive, while frequent spelling and word-choice problems sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “postive develpoment,” “some thing online order,” and “other country are send me the food pack.” Some expressions appear to describe restaurant delivery rather than the availability of imported food. Build a more precise set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; for example, explain whether imported products offer greater choice, cultural variety, or year-round availability.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, using connectors such as “although,” “but,” and “for example.” Some basic meaning can be understood, but sentence structures are often incomplete or inaccurately formed, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and punctuation make relationships between ideas unclear. For instance, “there is a two main reason” has an agreement problem, while “other country are send me the food pack” has an incorrect verb construction. Several sentences also run together without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then combine them with a controlled range of clauses. Check singular and plural forms, verb tense, articles, and sentence boundaries during revision.
