Student answer (Band 5.5)

IN TODAY'S FAST-PACED WORD, MANY CUSTOMERS PURCHASE THEIR FOOD AND GROCERIES FROM A SUPERMARKET, WHICH HAVE VARITY OF GLOBLE PRODUCED FOOD ITEMS IN MANY NATIONS. I BELIEVE THAT HAS MORE POSITIVE REASONS THAN NEGATIVE BECASUE SHOPPING IN SUPERMARKET CAN ENABLE CONSUMERS WIDER GLOBAL RANGE OF PRODUCTS AND EASY AVILIBILITY OF ALTERNATIVE PRODUCT IN A SAME PLACE. SO THEY CAN SAVE THEIR VALUABLE TIME.

ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS OF THIS ASPECT IS INDIVIDUAL GET ACCESS OF FOREIGN BRANDS PRODUCTS.MANY TYPES OF PRODUCTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN THE LOCAL MARKET SHOPES, SO PEOPLE MOSTLY HAVE TO BUY IT FROM ONLINE PLATFORMS SUCH AS AMAZON AND FLIPKART, BUT IN THOSE SITES PEOPLE CANNOT ABLE TRY OR SEE THE ACTCUAL ITEM, SO IN THIS SITUATION SUPERMARKET BECOME GAME CHANGER WHICH PROVIDES THE FOREIGN NATION PRODUCTS IN ONE PLACE. SO, EOPLE GENERALLY NOT HAVE TO SEARCH FOR THE ITEM IN DIFFERENT SHOPES. FOR INSTANCE, IN D-MART WHICH IS GLOBAL CHAIN MARKET HAVING DIRECT CONNECTION WITH MANUFACTURARES. SO THEY CAN PROVIDE MORE GLOBAL ACCESSIBILITY OF PRODUCT.

FURTHERMORE, SUPERMARKETS STOCK NUMEROUS ALTERNATIVE FOR A SIMGLE FOOD ITEM FROM A WIDE ARRAY OF BRANDS. GIVING SHOPERS TO OPETIONS AND CONVENIENCE OF COMPARING PRICES AND INGREDIENTS UNDER ONE PLACE. THIS FACILITIES ELIMINATES PERSON'S MULTIPLE STORE VISITS TO FIND BEST QUALITY OF FOOD PACKAGE. AS A RESULT, CONSUMERS SAVES THEIR CONSIDERABLE TIME AND EFFORTS TO FIND BEST BRANDS BY COMPARING BRANDS SPECIFICATIONS. FOR EXAMPLE, IN PERTICULAR STORES MOSTLY ONE BRANDS OF COOKIES AVAILABLE BUT IN SUPERMARKET THERE ARE NUMBER OF BRAND FROM OTHER COUNTIES ARE AVAILABLE.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you consider worldwide supermarket food a positive development, mainly because it gives consumers access to foreign products and lets them compare alternatives in one place. Both reasons are relevant, and the examples of online shopping and cookie brands help illustrate them. However, the response focuses almost entirely on convenience and access; it does not consider any possible disadvantages or explain why the benefits outweigh them in a balanced way. Some support is also unclear or general—for example, the claim about D-Mart’s direct connections with manufacturers is not explained. Develop each main point with a clearer chain of reasoning and a more specific example to address the question more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a clear progression from access to product choice and convenience. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “For instance,” and “As a result” help signal relationships between ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical because several sentences begin with “So,” and the repeated references to supermarkets, products, and saving time do not always add new information. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the move from online platforms to supermarkets and the D-Mart example. The final standalone “I” interrupts the ending. Use a wider range of linking methods, make references between sentences precise, and finish with a brief conclusion that restates your judgement.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “global range,” “alternative,” “ingredients,” “convenience,” and “considerable time and effort.” These choices show an effort to express ideas beyond basic terms. However, frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word forms make the writing less clear, as in “varity,” “glob le,” “avilibility,” and “manufacturars.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “foreign brands products” and “global accessibility of product.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, for example, “products from foreign brands” and “access to international products.” Proofreading carefully and learning useful topic phrases as complete expressions would make your vocabulary more precise and easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, using clauses with “which,” “so,” and “but,” and you also use some simple sentences to explain consequences. However, many sentence patterns are faulty, and errors often make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “I believe that has more positive reasons” lacks a clear grammatical subject, while “supermarket can enable consumers wider global range” is missing necessary grammatical elements. There are also recurring problems with subject–verb agreement and articles, as in “consumers saves” and “in a same place.” Build accuracy first with complete subject–verb structures, then practise combining clauses. Check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries during revision.
