Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You state a positive view, especially by saying supermarkets let people obtain many necessities in one place and save time. However, the response only partly addresses the actual question: it shifts repeatedly to comparing supermarkets with nearby small shops, rather than explaining the benefits or drawbacks of being able to buy food produced around the world. The point about discounts is relevant to supermarkets generally, but it does not explain the impact of international food availability. Your ideas are also asserted rather than supported with specific examples or explanation. The response is 67 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to develop your position. Focus on the global range of food and explain its effects on consumers, producers, or local communities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting your view, and a concluding paragraph beginning “On the other hand.” The reader can identify your general positive position, and phrases such as “Accordingly” and “An the other hand” attempt to connect ideas. However, progression is difficult to follow because the discussion moves from consumer preferences to convenience, then to small shops, and finally to discounts without clearly linking these points to the question. Some connections are unclear, and the contrast marker “On the other hand” does not introduce a developed opposing view. Organise the essay around two or three effects of worldwide food availability, and use clear topic sentences and references to connect each explanation to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to shopping and food, including “supermarket,” “variety,” “discount,” and “quantity,” so the main subject is generally recognisable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “positive development.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, including “end user,” “in under one hall,” and “shape of discount.” Spelling errors such as “necessory,” “preffered,” and “diiferent” also reduce accuracy. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand. Build vocabulary around the specific topic—such as imported produce, consumer choice, seasonal foods, and local farmers—and check spelling and common word combinations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “Some preffered that buy food from near shop … and some people preffered that goto a supermarket.” This shows an effort to connect related ideas, but sentence structures are often incomplete or incorrectly formed, and control of basic grammar is inconsistent. Examples include “Recently in different countries end user goto to a supermarket buy food,” which lacks a clear grammatical structure, and “they get all necessory things which is required,” where agreement and clause structure are faulty. Articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise writing clear subject–verb sentences first, then combine them with accurate clauses using “because,” “which,” or “while.”
