Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries today's, consumer can go to supermart and buy food all over the world. I think that these are positive developments for buying the international products or food due to fact that consumer bought international products and built foreign relationship with other countries.

To begin with, In numerous countries consumer can go to a super market to bought some food that are produced in all over the world and consumer can enjoy the international trade and built relationship with other countries. In addition, In Pakistan most of the cosumer buy some food that are escpecially made in italian food like Noodles, pasta or pizza. For instance, some fruits and vegatables that are seasonsal food and not available in his country. Although, retailer import some food or vegatables through another countries and buit a good relationship with exporter like, Mangoes and Orange that are not locally available.

Moreover, there is also some disadvantages of buying some food or products through supermarket that are main causes of transport because they reduce the carbon emission and polluted the environment.Another problem is that sometime import or export are much more expensive due to war or some other reaons.

In conclusion, In numerous countries most of the consumer can go to the super markets and bought some fruits and vegetables that are produced all over the world. From my perspectives, I think these are the positive development due to fact that it built a relationship with the foreigner trader and get some experiences. However, government support farmer to encourage environmentaly and easier to trade.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is identifiable: you consider international food availability a positive development, mainly because it supports trade and relationships between countries. You also include examples involving imported fruit and food in Pakistan, and briefly acknowledge environmental and cost disadvantages. However, the response only partly develops the question. The benefits are repeated rather than explained in depth, and the claim that buying imported products builds relationships needs a clearer explanation. The disadvantages are also introduced but not weighed against your overall view. To strengthen the response, explain specific effects on consumers or food choice, develop one example fully, and show why the benefits outweigh the costs.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph moves from international trade to Italian food, seasonal produce and exports without showing how each point connects. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, including “Although” before a sentence that does not express a contrast. Repeated references to consumers and relationships also make the argument feel circular. Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it, using pronouns and linking phrases only where their references are clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “international trade,” “carbon emission,” “import,” “export” and “locally available,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning harder to interpret. For example, “supermart” is not the usual term, “built foreign relationship” is unnatural, and “reduce the carbon emission” appears to express the opposite of your intended point about transport pollution. Spelling errors such as “cosumer,” “vegatables” and “seasonsal” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for benefits and drawbacks, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a concession beginning “Although” and a reason introduced by “due to fact.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement and articles frequently interrupt the flow. Examples include “consumer can go … to bought,” “food that are produced,” and “it built a relationship”; these need forms such as “consumers can go … to buy,” “food that is produced,” and “it builds a relationship.” Several sentences also lack clear grammatical connections, particularly the sentence beginning “Although, retailer import…”. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns first, then build longer sentences around one clear main clause. Check punctuation and capitalisation at sentence boundaries as well.
