Student answer (Band 6.0)
Now a days, people can buy different kind of foods from their nearby supermarket, which are produced from all over the world. From my perspective it is a positive development because we are having access on food from all over the world. Although there are some negative aspects of this development. Such as, imported foods are expensive in comparison to our own country production of food.
On the one hand, masses can purchase variety of different food by going to supermarket. They can consume food which are out seasonal fruits and vegetables. For instance, we can buy noodels which are imported from China, delicious deserts which are imported from Turkey and pasta is imported from Italy. Furthermore, folks can taste food from all around the world by going to supermarket and they will have variety of foods which they can select according to their prefernces.
On the other hand, there are some negative aspects also of importing food from other countries. For example, importing food from other countries can cause pollution in environment by trucks, ships and airplanes which are used in importing food. In addition, imported food can also impact on high purchasing cost because import taxes will be inculde in their prices.
In conclusion, consumer can buy food from supermarket, which is produced from all over the world have advantages more in contrast with the disadvantages because people can consume different kind of fruits and vegetables in any season. They can explore different kind of tastes by siting in their home country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you consider worldwide food availability positive, while acknowledging higher prices and environmental pollution as drawbacks. You address both sides and give relevant examples, including imported noodles, desserts and pasta, as well as transport emissions and import taxes. However, the positive case is developed more fully than the negative one, and some points remain general. For example, you mention access to out-of-season produce but do not explain how this benefits consumers beyond offering more choice. The conclusion repeats the main advantages rather than drawing together the comparison. To strengthen the response, explain the effects of each point more fully and make the reasoning behind your overall judgement explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument, and the examples are placed in relevant paragraphs. This gives the essay a coherent progression. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The opening shifts abruptly from the positive view to “Although there are some negative aspects,” which is a sentence fragment, and the final paragraph repeats earlier points rather than synthesising them. Within the body paragraphs, develop each idea in a clearer sequence—claim, explanation, and consequence—and use referencing that makes the relationship between sentences more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “imported food,” “out seasonal fruits and vegetables,” “pollution,” and “import taxes.” There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “purchasing cost.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, and spelling errors are noticeable: “noodels,” “deserts” where you mean desserts, “prefernces,” and “siting.” Phrases such as “purchase variety of different food” and “impact on high purchasing cost” also reduce precision. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, but they limit the range and control of your vocabulary. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “a wider variety of foods” and “increase the cost to consumers.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “people can buy different kind of foods” needs plural agreement, while “food which are out seasonal” has problems with agreement and clause structure. “Although there are some negative aspects of this development” is incomplete as a sentence, and “consumer can buy food … have advantages” lacks a clear grammatical connection between its clauses. There are also errors with articles and prepositions, as in “access on food.” Work on complete sentence construction, subject–verb agreement, and linking clauses accurately. More reliable control of these forms would make your varied sentence attempts clearer.
