Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear overall view in the introduction: access to international food is “more beneficial and positive.” The response also offers relevant possible benefits, including economic growth, trade, consumer choice and business opportunities. However, the task is only partially addressed because these points are often asserted rather than explained, and some are difficult to connect to the availability of imported food. For example, the claims about tourism, youth employment and reduced waste or low quality are not supported with a clear explanation or example. The conclusion introduces ideas about consumers’ preferences and retailers’ motives without clearly drawing together the main reasons. Develop two or three directly relevant benefits and explain how each affects consumers or countries.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has an identifiable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the body paragraphs broadly group economic and trade-related points. You also attempt linking expressions such as “For example,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several claims are placed together without clear connections. The second body paragraph moves from international relations to youth, economic strength, tourism, customer-seller deals and product quality. Some connectors are inaccurate or repetitive, including “In additionally” and “for that reason,” while references such as “that nation” and “that place” are unclear. Organise each paragraph around one main idea, then explain it in a logical sequence with precise referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary related to trade and economics, including “international market,” “consumer,” “economically and financially” and “opportunities.” This shows an effort to discuss the topic beyond basic everyday language. However, the range is limited by frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choice or collocation, which sometimes make the intended meaning hard to identify: “megashope,” “welocoming,” “prosperes,” and “low margine” are examples. Phrases such as “produced food buying buy retailer” and “many uneven things” are also unclear or unnatural. Aim for accurate, familiar topic vocabulary before using more ambitious expressions, and check spelling and word forms. More precise terms such as “imported products,” “local businesses” and “consumer choice” would help express your ideas clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure beginning “If there are many countries…” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation can make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “If there are many countries are develope” combines incompatible structures, while “different nations are make good relation” has an incorrect verb pattern and missing grammatical elements. Several sentence fragments also appear, such as “Which make them superior to others.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check that each sentence has a complete subject and verb, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
