Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is a controversy that nowadays, individuals can buy variety of food from superstores which produced all over the world. From my perspective, it is a positive development because people now taste variety of food and they do not wait for next season to buy seasonal food.
The main advantageous is individuals have more options to buy and consume food. Previously, people had limited options and they felt bored and now they have variety of food and flavours which boost their energy. Furthermore, because of developments in technology human beings are more awaired and they want to try different things to eat and when they see unique items at stores they want to try at their homes. For example, in Pakistan firstly there were a small stores and few things are available in that stores but in modern society, there are large supermarkets and they sale international food also as a result, people have more options to try unique things at their home.
Secondly, in previous years inhabitants waited another season to try different variety but with the help of technology now exporters import fruits and vegetables from another countries and distribute all things in superstores so everyone can easily purchase it. For instance, now people eat oranges and other winter seasonal fruits easily buy in summer.
In conclusion, there is an ongoing debate about buyers can get food which is produced all over the world. I believe its a negative development because now people do not wait for eat fruits for other season and they have a lot of variety to food.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear reason for viewing international food availability positively: consumers have more choice and can buy seasonal produce outside its usual season. The examples about supermarkets in Pakistan and buying oranges in summer are relevant. However, the position becomes contradictory in the conclusion, where you state that this is a “negative development,” despite supporting the positive view throughout the essay. This makes your overall answer unclear. The ideas are also only briefly explained: for example, the claim that variety “boost[s] their energy” is not supported, and the benefits of year-round availability could be developed further. Keep one consistent position and explain the effects of your examples more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. “Furthermore,” “Secondly” and “For instance” help signal additions and examples, and the paragraphs broadly group related points. However, progression is weakened by repetition of the same ideas about variety and choice, and the conclusion reverses the position established in the introduction and body paragraphs. Some links are also awkward or unclear, such as “as a result” joining the supermarket example to its outcome without clear sentence boundaries. Use cohesive devices to show precise relationships, avoid repeating the same benefit, and ensure the conclusion follows logically from the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “seasonal,” “exporters,” “international food” and “supermarkets,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “unique items.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, including “the main advantageous,” “variety of food and flavours which boost their energy,” and “a lot of variety to food.” Spelling errors such as “awaired” and “sale” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they make parts of the essay less clear and fluent. Build a bank of natural phrases for discussing consumer choice, imports and year-round availability, and check spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using structures such as “because of developments in technology” and “when they see unique items at stores.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “food … which produced” (missing a verb form), “there were a small stores,” and “people eat oranges … easily buy in summer,” where the sentence structure is incomplete. There are also problems with agreement and tense, as in “few things are available in that stores” and “they sale.” Practise building complete clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and using consistent past or present forms. Clearer sentence boundaries will also help.
