Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's rapidly growing world, people can enjoy different type of food from all over the globe.

Buyers can find different kind of global foods in grocery stores, which they can buy. In my opinion this is the positive developments as it give benefit to farmers and public also enjoy different variety of eatables.

To commence with the first positive point, there is many benefits for farmers all around the world when their crops are exported worldwide. The increase demand for the food products can surge the income of food producers which help them to live a comfortable life. Whereas, if farmers earn a good money from their crops, that will motivates them to grow organic products that will give benefits to all the public around the world. For example, there is a report that shows 90% of health issues are because of bad quality of food products. But when different food products are available from different countries then they can choose different quality of items.

In addition, public can enjoy wide variety of food products. They do not have to depend on limited resources. Individuals who are restricted to limited food items because of their health issues can also enjoy different kind of food, when supermarkets give them access to worldwide food items. For instance, there are many reports that people who are restricted to limited food items have to face vitamins and protein deficiency but this problem is now solved as different type of eatables are now available in markets.

To encapsulate, it can be concluded that there are many benefits if food from all around the world is available in supermarkets. The primarily because it give boost to farmers encome and other reason is that wide variety of food can be enjoy by individuals who are suffering from any health issues

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider worldwide food availability a positive development, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons. You explain that exports may raise farmers’ incomes and that consumers gain more choice, with examples related to organic produce and dietary needs. This covers the task and provides some support. However, the development is uneven: the link between higher income and farmers choosing organic production is asserted rather than explained, and the claims about health problems and deficiencies are broad and not clearly connected to access to imported food. To strengthen the response, explain these cause-and-effect links more precisely and use a specific, credible example to support each main point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate benefits, and a concluding summary. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with” and “In addition” help signal the progression, and the main ideas are generally easy to follow. Some cohesion is mechanical, however, and links between claims are not always clear. For example, “Whereas” does not establish a clear contrast after the point about farmers’ income, while the transition from organic production to a report about health issues feels abrupt. The conclusion also repeats the two reasons without fully bringing them together. Use simpler, more precise links and make each example explicitly support the point in its paragraph.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “exported worldwide,” “income,” “organic products,” and “vitamins and protein deficiency.” There are also attempts at less common phrasing, such as “wide variety” and “restricted to limited food items.” However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, and word-form errors reduce naturalness and sometimes make meaning less precise. Examples include “different type of food,” “different variety of eatables,” “increase demand,” and “farmers encome.” Some expressions are repetitive, particularly “different” and “food products.” Build a more accurate range of collocations and vary repeated terms; for instance, use “a diverse range of foods,” “rising demand,” and “farmers’ earnings.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional and relative clauses, as in “if farmers earn a good money from their crops” and “Individuals who are restricted to limited food items…” This shows some range, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “there is many benefits” should use a plural verb, “it give benefit” needs a correctly formed verb, and “that will motivates them” has an incorrect verb form. The final sentence is also incomplete or poorly constructed: “The primarily because…” Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and revise complex sentences to ensure each has a clear grammatical structure.
