Student answer (Band 5.5)

The growing trend of individuals can buy good food produced all over the world has become increasingly noticeable in recent years. From my perspective, this is a positive development because people can buy quality food and their favourite meals produced around the world.

One of the main reasons why i consider this is a positive development is that availability of quality food. This is because people from different countries can get quality of food which is produced in another country. For example, peoples who were living in Pakistan can buy different type of quality food which produced in Turkey or any other country. Another important reason is buying favourite food, which means people from Pakistan who want to buy favourite food which is basically produced in India can buy in supermarket of their city. As a result, these two points availability of quality food and favourite food in supermarket making this a positive development.

Furthermore, internationally trading of quality food provides me another reason to support my view. This is particularly important because countries like Pakistan who is challenging with their economies can boost their economy by exporting quality of good food which is demanding in other countries. For instance, Pakistan can raises their economy by exporting wheat which is demanding all over the world.

In conclusion, I think trend of people buying quality food which is produced all over the world is a positive development because availabilty of quality food and individuals favouritism in buying food from supermarket which is produced all over world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you consider worldwide food availability positive, and you give relevant reasons involving access to food and the ability to buy familiar meals. The examples about Pakistani consumers buying Turkish or Indian products help illustrate these points. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The claim that imported food is “quality food” is repeated rather than explained, and the point about exporting wheat shifts from consumers buying international food to countries’ trade benefits without clearly connecting the two. To strengthen the response, explain the benefits and any relevant drawbacks in more depth, and show how each example supports your overall judgement.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “One of the main reasons” and “Furthermore” make the main points visible. However, progression is limited because the first body paragraph repeats the ideas of quality and favourite food, and the conclusion largely restates the introduction. Some links are mechanical or unclear: “As a result, these two points…” does not clearly explain the relationship between the examples and the conclusion, while the move to international trade introduces a new focus. Organise each paragraph around one distinct reason, develop it with explanation and an example, and use referencing and transitions that make the connections between ideas explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “supermarket,” “produced,” “exporting” and “economies.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, especially “quality food,” “favourite food” and “all over the world.” Some word choices and collocations are unnatural, such as “internationally trading of quality food,” “quality of food,” and “individuals favouritism.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less precise. Aim to use a wider range of natural expressions for international food availability and trade, and check spelling, including “availability,” which is misspelled in the conclusion. More precise vocabulary would make your reasoning clearer and less repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including explanations introduced by “because” and “which,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently. For example, “The growing trend of individuals can buy” has an incorrect clause structure, while “countries like Pakistan who is” has a subject–verb agreement error. Other examples include “people … can get quality of food which is produced” and “Pakistan can raises,” where sentence construction or verb forms are inaccurate. Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, as in the lowercase “i.” Practise building accurate sentences with relative clauses and subordinate clauses, and check agreement, articles, plurals and verb forms before submitting.
