Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the world, many countries are getting modern day by day. These country have all food which is producedall over the world. There are two things here, one is positive and another is negative. . Although the latter opinion can be beneficial in some cases, i belive that there are mostly positive thing here.
In many country, they have many big supermarket. They imported many food from different country and sell these in the supermarket. Sometimes, they give a discount to the customers. For this, customers can buy these type of food easly. Customers can test any foreign foods. So foreign country can be beneficial about their economy. They can earn a lot of money and can invest them for upgrade their country. For instance, United States produce Coca-cola and Pepsi and sell them world wide. For this, United States is a modern country. Some food is good for our health such as energy drinks which is not produced in many countries. So these countries need to import these kind of foods.
Many dishonest people copy the imported product and sell these to the local market as a original products. For example, many Bangladeshi people copy Coca-cola and Pepsi. So, we Bangladeshi people do not know which is the authentic one. Not only Bangladesh but also another country who copy many original product.
In conclusion, foreighn products are important for us. Sometimes we depend on these food. So, imported foods is a positive development. But copying original products is bad things. Our government should try to stop this. They can take actions against dishonest people who made copy products.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that access to imported food is positive, while acknowledging a drawback: counterfeit products. This addresses the question, and the examples of imported drinks and copied brands are relevant. However, the position is not fully consistent at the start, where you say there are positive and negative aspects and refer to “the latter opinion” without making clear which view you mean. Several supporting claims are also under-developed or unclear: for example, the link between selling Coca-Cola and the United States being a modern country does not explain the benefits of international food availability, and the health claim about energy drinks is questionable and unsupported. Develop the benefits more directly, such as consumer choice or access to foods unavailable locally, and explain the impact of counterfeiting.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about benefits, a paragraph about a drawback, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weak, and several links between ideas are unclear. For instance, “For this” is repeated but does not always show a precise cause-and-effect relationship, particularly between discounts, consumer access, and a country’s economic development. The opening also introduces “two things” without clearly defining the two positions. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then connect each example explicitly to that point. More precise referencing and a wider range of linking expressions would make the organisation less repetitive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “imported,” “foreign foods,” “authentic,” and “local market.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. Examples include “modern day by day,” “test any foreign foods” where you mean try or taste them, and “copy products” where “counterfeit products” is more precise. Spelling errors such as “easly,” “foreighn,” and “belive” are also noticeable. Build a more varied set of expressions for discussing consumer choice, trade, and product authenticity, and check spelling and collocations carefully. This would make your argument clearer and more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including “Although the latter opinion can be beneficial in some cases…” and “Not only Bangladesh but also another country…”. However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors affect clarity. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “These country have” and “imported foods is,” article and plural errors in “as a original products,” and incomplete or awkward sentence construction in “So foreign country can be beneficial about their economy.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in the lowercase “i” and the extra full stop in the introduction. Practise accurate sentence patterns for comparisons and cause-and-effect, and check agreement, articles, and singular/plural forms when editing.
