Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you consider access to food from around the world a positive development, and the conclusion restates this view. You give relevant reasons, including convenience, exposure to other cuisines, employment and trade, and food availability. The Canadian supermarket example also helps illustrate cultural variety. This covers the task well, but the support is uneven: the convenience and cuisine points are explained more clearly than the economic claims. In particular, the link between importing food and reducing poverty is asserted rather than demonstrated, and the discussion of food shortages needs a specific explanation. Develop these points with a clear cause-and-effect explanation or a concrete example to make the argument more fully supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from convenience and cultural variety to economic benefits, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Nevertheless” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “Nevertheless” suggests a contrast, although the economic benefits continue the positive argument, and “If a country export food from one nation to other” makes the relationship between importing and exporting difficult to follow. The final paragraph is also brief and repeats the position without drawing the main reasons together. Use transitions that reflect the actual relationship between ideas, and make links between sentences explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “convenient,” “transportation,” “competitive price” and “food shortage,” and you attempt more specific expressions such as “cultural cuisine” and “business opportunities.” This gives you enough range to communicate the main points, but inaccurate word choice, word forms and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “food edible items,” “unployeed worker,” “proverty” and “postive development.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “experience different cuisines and taste.” Aim to learn topic vocabulary in accurate phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise wording would make your economic argument clearer as well as improve the overall fluency of the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “products … which help Indian families” and a conditional structure beginning “If a country export food.” The main ideas are usually understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “the supermarket are” and “it provide” do not match their subjects, while “different type of food” needs a plural form or a different construction. The conditional sentence is also difficult to interpret because its verb forms and relationship between exporting and importing are not controlled. Review subject–verb agreement and article use, then build complex sentences around one clear relationship at a time. More accurate sentence patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
