Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a relevant response by discussing possible health risks and acknowledging that supermarkets also offer healthy foods. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening calls the development negative, while the second body paragraph concludes that it is beneficial, and the conclusion shifts to consumer choice rather than directly deciding whether global food availability is positive or negative. Several points are also under-developed or only loosely connected to the question. For example, the discussion of plastic packaging and diseases does not explain how access to food produced around the world causes these problems. To strengthen the response, state a clear overall view and support it with specific explanations or examples about the benefits or drawbacks of buying imported food.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting points, and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally group related ideas, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from processed food to government bans, packaging, and health conditions without showing the links between them. “Finally” is also used repeatedly, and the shift from a negative opening to a positive conclusion weakens the overall line of argument. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each supporting point explicitly to the central question, while keeping the same position throughout.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “processed foods,” “eco-friendly packaging,” “ingredients,” and “allergic,” which helps communicate the general subject. There is also some attempt to express more specific ideas about diet and health. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the response awkward or less clear. Examples include “supermarkets sale,” “grab attention from the public,” “hepful,” and “cholestrol.” Phrases such as “produced food” are also too vague for the discussion of food from around the world. Build a more precise set of expressions for imported food, food safety, nutrition, and consumer choice, and check spelling and natural word combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if government and companies cooperate” and “if they want to sale produced food items.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “people … are heavily rely” combines incompatible verb forms, while “these type of development” has a number-agreement problem. The opening sentence also joins several ideas without clear grammatical control, and punctuation is inconsistent, including missing spaces after full stops. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
