Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, in most of the countries consumers prefer to purchase food items from supermarket in all over the world. There are both positive and negative impact.
By purchasing food items from the market can provide us ease and provide us a good quality food at one place but also it have a negative impact on our farmers and on our health too. According to it is a negative development.
The primary reason why i am opposing it because the supermarket chains like wallmart, carefour, and alfateh purchase selective fruits and vegetables from the farmer amd rest of it they do not purchase and most of the time this food is wasted because of their huge quantity. Another pint is that the fruits that are presented on the shelves are coated with the thin layer of wax that can make your stomach disturb if you not washed it properly before eating.
Furthermore, the ease that the supermarket provide us and store the food items that long which is not possible to store it without any preservative. According to unicef report of 2025 on healthy eating clearly said that to eat fresh homemade food which do not have any preservative in it it provides another reason to support my position because unicef is a worldwide health organization and my food scientist are working with them and do research on the techniques that are followed nowadays rather it is good for mankind or not.
In conlusion, everything have a positive and negative side but if there is anything which is not good for our health we just have to reject it because the most precious thing in this word is our health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that access to internationally produced food is negative, and you offer relevant concerns about waste, wax coatings and preservatives. However, the response only partly develops the question: the benefits of global food availability are acknowledged briefly as “ease” and “good quality food,” but are not explained or weighed against your objections. Some support is also unclear or insufficiently connected to the claim, particularly the reference to a UNICEF report and your food scientists. To strengthen the response, explain how buying food from around the world affects consumers and producers, then develop two or three well-supported reasons for your position. Make sure examples are precise and that claims about health or food storage are explained rather than asserted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “The primary reason” and “Furthermore” help show the intended sequence. However, progression between ideas is not always clear. The second body paragraph moves from convenience to storage, preservatives, a UNICEF report and your food scientists without explaining how these points connect. Some references, such as “According to it,” are difficult to follow, and the conclusion repeats the general idea that everything has positive and negative sides rather than drawing together the main reasons. Improve cohesion by giving each paragraph one central point, linking evidence directly to that point, and using clear references and transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “supermarket chains,” “fruits and vegetables,” “preservative” and “healthy eating,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, sometimes making meaning less clear. For example, “food items from the market” is vague, “make your stomach disturb” is not a natural expression, and “store the food items that long” does not clearly express the intended meaning. Spelling errors such as “wallmart,” “amd,” “pint” and “conlusion” also affect the impression of control. Build a more precise range for discussing international food supply, food waste and health, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a relative clause in “which is not possible to store it without any preservative.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty; errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to understand. Examples include “There are both positive and negative impact,” “it have a negative impact,” and “the supermarket provide us,” where subject–verb agreement or number is incorrect. The sentence beginning “Furthermore” also lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “if you not washed it properly” has an incorrect verb form. Practise accurate sentence patterns, especially agreement, articles, plurals and conditional clauses, and use punctuation to separate complete ideas.
