Student answer (Band 5.5)

These days the consumers from all over the world, when go to the supermarket then buy food items which are synthesized in different parts of the world. So i will share my perspective below that it either good or bad development.

Now a days, when a customer go to the supermarket they buy different sorts of products from all around the world, so if we take a look on negative perspective then items from different countries if a customer buy so it may cause the financial burden on a person, sometimes it can effect the cultural beliefs of some people. For example if a country is a vegetarian and most of people there are vegetarian and some of the people are non vegetarian like India if the consumer buy the meat product so it can cause the negative effects on the beliefs of the vegetarian people in this country.

If we take a look on the postive side of this notion of customers to buy food which belongs to different regions of the world, so they have chance to explore different types of food culture around the world and they have chance to know that which types of food are taking by the rest of the regions in world, moreover this products can enhance there tastebuds which in future they can transform the specific food in own cultural cuisines. Forexample if we take a look on a ramen a noodle which adopted from ancient china by Mongolians, Russians, Pakistanis because they tried Ramen and they loved it and by giving its cultural touch of cuisine and gave a specific name.

I conclude it, that it is the positive development in the diversitizing the cusisines of specific regions and also the customers have chance to explore the foof diversity of different cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the issue and state a clear overall view in the conclusion: access to international food is positive because it allows people to explore food cultures. The discussion of cultural exchange is relevant, and the ramen example attempts to illustrate how foods can be adapted. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says you will discuss whether it is good or bad, while the body gives substantial space to disadvantages without explaining how serious they are compared with the benefits. The claims about financial burden and harm to vegetarian beliefs are also only briefly explained and are not clearly linked to buying imported food. Develop fewer points with specific, convincing reasoning and make your positive or negative judgement explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on disadvantages, a paragraph on benefits, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and linking phrases are repetitive or awkward, particularly “if we take a look” and repeated uses of “so.” The vegetarian example moves from imported products to the beliefs of a whole country without a clear explanation of the connection. The ramen example also contains several ideas in one long sentence, making the sequence of events unclear. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then explain and illustrate it in a clear order; vary linking devices and use pronouns with unmistakable references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “financial burden,” “cultural beliefs,” “food culture,” and “diversity,” and these choices show an effort to discuss more than basic shopping. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “different,” “chance,” and “food,” while several word choices or forms are inaccurate and sometimes make meaning unclear. Examples include “synthesized” for food produced, “diversitizing,” “cusisines,” and “foof.” Phrases such as “enhance their tastebuds” and “food which belongs to different regions” are also unnatural in this context. Build a more precise set of topic expressions and check spelling and collocations; this will help communicate your ideas with less effort for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if a customer buy” and clauses introduced by “which.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “when go to the supermarket” lacks a clear subject, “a customer go” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “they have chance” is missing an article. The sentence beginning “For example if we take a look on a ramen” also has unclear clause structure and punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences around one main idea, checking subjects and verbs, articles, and clause boundaries before adding extra information. Greater control of these basics would make your varied attempts easier to understand.
