Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a clear overall position by saying you “staunchly agree” and concluding that international food availability is positive because it gives consumers greater choice. The benefit of access to varied cuisines is relevant, and the example of people in India buying Italian pasta helps illustrate it. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the opening promises to discuss merits and demerits, but the body develops only benefits, while the conclusion briefly mentions harm to farmers and the environment without explaining either point. The response is also 98 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop and support your ideas. To improve, explain your position consistently and add specific reasoning and examples for the main points you choose.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response with an introduction, a body paragraph and a conclusion, and phrases such as “To commence with” and “For example” signal the intended progression. However, the overall development is difficult to follow because the introduction announces both advantages and disadvantages, the body discusses advantages only, and the conclusion introduces disadvantages without explanation. Some linking is also mechanical or incorrectly punctuated, as in “To commence with,The main benefit” and “Conclusion, the international availability…”. The body combines several ideas—choice, cultural experience and year-round availability—without fully connecting or developing them. Use clear paragraphing for each main point, make the conclusion follow from the discussion, and use linking expressions accurately rather than relying on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You show some useful range for the topic with phrases such as “a wide variety,” “locally produced,” “different cultures and cuisines,” and “seasonal or climatic condition.” These choices help communicate the central idea, and “staunchly agree” shows an attempt at emphatic vocabulary. However, the range is uneven and several spelling or word-choice errors reduce precision, including “maily,” “nowdays,” “throughtout,” and “vindication.” Some phrasing is also unnatural, such as “merits overlap demerit” and “food products all over the world.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, you could write “the advantages outweigh the disadvantages” and “products imported from around the world.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response includes both simple statements and attempts at more complex sentences, such as “In the past, consumers… which limited their choices” and the clause beginning “even when certain products…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the intended relationships harder to follow. Examples include “go to a supermarkets,” “it provide greater choice,” and the run-on construction in the conclusion, where a comma joins the claim about harm to farmers with the writer’s opinion. Punctuation and spacing also interfere with sentence boundaries, as in “For example, people” and “pasta,Furthermore”. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms, and separate complete ideas with full stops or suitable conjunctions. More reliable sentence control will make your argument clearer.
