Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you consider access to food from around the world a positive development, and you give reasons such as consumer choice, convenience, employment and tax revenue. However, the response only partially addresses the specific issue of internationally produced food. Much of the support shifts to supermarkets generally, including parking, online payment, watches, clothes, bikes and medical items; these examples do not explain the effects of buying food from different countries. The economic points are relevant but asserted rather than explained. To strengthen the response, focus each main idea on imported food—for example, year-round availability, dietary variety, or possible effects on local producers—and develop it with a specific explanation or example. Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Furthermore,” and a conclusion that restates your view. These features help the reader follow the broad direction. However, progression within the paragraphs is weak: the first moves from food choice to watches and supermarket facilities, while the second shifts among clothes, bikes, employment, taxes and trade. As a result, the central argument is not developed in a consistent sequence. Linking phrases such as “For instance” and “Moreover” are used, but they sometimes introduce examples that do not support the point about internationally produced food. Group related reasons together and use clear references to connect each example to its claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “consumers,” “employment opportunities,” “economy” and “trade relationship,” and your meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “different varities,” “provides more facility” and “positive development.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as “bacame,” “developement,” “forign” and “empolyment,” which reduce accuracy and can distract the reader. Some collocations are unnatural, including “shopping from supermarket” and “do shopping of different brand.” Build a more precise set of expressions for food imports and consumer benefits, and check spelling and common word partnerships when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with connectors, and the overall meaning can usually be understood. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic grammar as well as in longer constructions. Examples include “a increasingly common issue” (article), “person can buys” (subject–verb form), “opportunity to used” (verb pattern), and “it also contribute” (agreement). Articles and plurals are also inconsistent in phrases such as “supermarket provides” and “different varities of item.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention, particularly the lowercase “i” and “supermarket” after a full stop, and missing spaces after sentence-ending punctuation. Practise accurate simple sentences before adding more complex clauses.
