In many countries nowadays, consumers can go to a supermarket and buy food produced all over the world.

Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, many countries allow their supermarket consumers to choose their product among international options. This essay will demonstrate my viewpoint towards its positivity.
Exporting and importing of food products contributes to a country's economy by keeping active the international trade and its facility. A lion's share of a country's revenue is generated from this international trading economy. No country possesses the autarky to produce all types of food products locally due to the geographical and technical limitations. So,there is no other option to depend on the co-operational actions. Bangladesh, for instance, is a tea exporter country and the USA is the biggest buyer of bangladeshi tea, just because USA's weather is not suitable for harvesting tea.
Also, it offers the consumers a lot of options regarding their purchase. This is why they do not feel constraint in terms of buying a suitable food if one does not meet their demand. Using imported food products make purchasers introduce to diverse culinary options which eventually make them tolerant to the cross-cultural variety to a certain extent. For example, "pasta alfredo" is not a local bangladeshi food, it is a dish from Italy. So, because of the global availability, a bangladeshi can easily relish this while staying in Bangladesh.
In conclusion, the global food trend is a prominent determinant of a country's local economy. And it transcends the collective wellbeing to the that of a individual. The convenience of sharing the local food products to another country enhances the international relationships. So, considering its major advantages, I think this as a positive trend.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You give a clear, consistent view that access to food from around the world is positive, and you support it with relevant points about trade, consumer choice and cultural exposure. The examples of Bangladeshi tea exports and pasta Alfredo help make these ideas concrete. However, some points are asserted more than explained: for instance, the claim that international trade generates “a lion’s share” of national revenue is broad and not substantiated, while the link between food imports and stronger international relationships appears mainly in the conclusion. Develop these claims with clearer explanation or evidence, and address possible disadvantages briefly before reaffirming your position, to make the response more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs present separate supporting reasons, and a conclusion restates your view. The progression from economic benefits to consumer and cultural benefits is easy to follow, and examples are placed in relevant paragraphs. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, with repeated transitions such as “Also,” “For example,” and “So.” Some references are also unclear, particularly “it” in “it transcends the collective wellbeing,” and the final paragraph introduces international relationships without developing that point earlier. Use a wider range of linking methods, make pronoun references explicit, and ensure the conclusion synthesises ideas already established.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “international trade,” “geographical and technical limitations,” “culinary options,” and “cross-cultural variety.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and attempts at less common expressions show ambition. Some collocations and word choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “keeping active the international trade,” “possesses the autarky,” “feel constraint,” and “transcends the collective wellbeing.” There are also spelling and capitalisation slips in “bangladeshi.” Aim for more natural combinations—for example, “sustain international trade,” “be self-sufficient,” and “feel restricted”—and check word forms and proper nouns carefully. This would make your meaning more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including causal clauses (“just because USA’s weather is not suitable…”) and a relative clause (“if one does not meet their demand”). Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “choose their product” where a plural form is needed, “Exporting and importing … contributes” with a plural subject, and “make purchasers introduce to” where the verb pattern is incorrect. Articles and sentence construction also need attention in “the that of a individual.” Punctuation is occasionally faulty, as in “So,there.” Practise subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns, then proofread sentence boundaries and spacing; greater accuracy across these structures would strengthen the response.
