Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain that you want to study accountancy, request a change to your hours, and describe how the course could benefit the organisation. The benefit is relevant, particularly your point that your expertise could support company growth, but it is repeated and remains general rather than showing a specific workplace application. The requested schedule is also unclear: “reduce my working hour to 4PM” could mean finishing at 4 p.m. or working until then, and you do not state your preferred starting time or total hours. The response is 142 words, below the required 150, so add a little detail—especially a precise schedule and a concrete example of how your new skills would help.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a recognisable progression: you introduce your request, explain your study plans, describe a possible benefit to the employer, and close politely. Separate paragraphs help distinguish these purposes, and phrases such as “Here” and “I hope to hear” guide the reader through the message. However, the connection between ideas is sometimes awkward or repetitive. For example, the two sentences beginning “To elaborate” and “While working at office” make essentially the same point about being an asset. The opening sentence also runs directly into the next without a space after the full stop. To make the organisation more effective, give each paragraph one clear purpose and use transitions to show how your course will lead to a specific benefit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary suited to a formal workplace letter, including “accountancy course,” “organisation,” “expertise,” and “added advantage.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the message less polished: “advance accountancy,” “enterence test,” “colourful distenction,” and “usful” are difficult to interpret or incorrect. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “reduce my working hour to 4PM” and “hear you kind response.” Aim for accurate, conventional expressions rather than trying to make the wording sound elaborate. Proofreading spelling and choosing precise collocations would make your meaning clearer and help you present your request professionally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main purpose is generally understandable. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns are noticeable. “Where as have already completed my entrance test” is an incomplete clause because it has no clear subject, while “I hope to hear you kind response” is missing the preposition needed after “hear.” In “reduce my working hour to 4PM,” the relationship between the hours and the time is not expressed clearly. Punctuation also needs attention: the first paragraph contains a run-on transition after “next month.” Use complete sentences with an explicit subject and verb, and check articles, prepositions, and sentence boundaries before submitting.
