Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for the request, the proposed hours, and the benefits to the employer. However, the response is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which impacts the development of ideas. The explanation of how the studies benefit the employer is quite brief and could have been expanded to show a more professional connection between the Master's degree and your current role as an HR manager. Because the length requirement was not met, the development of the response is limited, preventing a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, and the progression of ideas is generally clear. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'Although' to link sentences. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between the introduction and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The use of paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter, but the overall structure is quite simple. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'pay attention to my studies' and 'fix the hours'. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'regarding to talk' (should be 'regarding') and 'I do not want to left' (should be 'leave'). To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more professional, topic-specific vocabulary related to business and employment, and ensure that your verb forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'I am working... from last two years' (should be 'for the last two years'), 'I have keen interest' (should be 'a keen interest'), and 'I want to purse' (should be 'pursue'). While these errors do not prevent the message from being understood, they indicate a lack of control over basic grammatical rules and sentence construction. Increasing your accuracy in verb tenses and articles will significantly improve your score.
