Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to you to talk about my reduction working hours.

I want to reduce my working because i am planning to study part time along with my work. I do not want to quit my job because it is my only job to support my financials. I am planning to make further moves in my carrier for that i have to do this part time study.

If you allow working from 4pm to 11pm would suit me the most to get along with me studies. This course is going to be beneficial for me and the company because in this studies i am going to learn about operating the new equipment that are going to arrive in the market soon i am sure we will be use them too in the future in our company.

I am looking forward to hearing good from you

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the new equipment, you could have elaborated more on how your specific study program would directly improve your efficiency or contribute to the company's productivity. The letter is functional and meets the requirements of the task, but further expansion on the benefits would have strengthened the response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter follows a logical structure, with each paragraph addressing a specific part of the prompt. You use basic linking words like 'because' and 'if', which help the reader follow your argument. However, the transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt, and the use of cohesive devices is quite limited. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking phrases such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in addition to this'. Paragraphing is present, but the overall flow could be smoother with more sophisticated connectors to link your ideas more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your needs clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'part-time', 'financials', and 'equipment'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'talk about my reduction working hours' (should be 'discuss a reduction in my working hours') and 'make further moves in my carrier' (should be 'career'). The vocabulary is somewhat repetitive and lacks the range of less common or more precise lexical items that would be expected at a higher band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles, prepositions, and verb forms (e.g., 'in this studies i am going to learn', 'we will be use them'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and missing commas. To reach a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately. Proofreading for basic errors like capitalization of 'I' and verb tense consistency will significantly improve your score.
