Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a boss. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention that your studies will help with marketing, the explanation of how you will implement strategies like 'social media page' is a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are more fully extended and professional in tone, providing a clearer link between your academic learning and the specific needs of your workplace.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a distinct purpose. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Hence', and 'instead of', which help the reader follow your argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced, such as the transition into the final paragraph. The referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly. Overall, the structure is coherent and easy to follow throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'competitive market', 'marketing strategies', and 'enrolled'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation that prevent a higher score. For instance, 'Marketing is being choose by me' is grammatically and lexically awkward, and 'impose various structure' is not the correct collocation for implementing strategies. Additionally, 'reputed student' is not the most natural way to describe your academic standing. Focusing on more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing will help improve your lexical range and accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. Examples include 'Marketing is being choose by me' (passive voice error), 'provide me 24-30 hours of week' (missing preposition), and 'make more concentration' (incorrect verb-noun collocation). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and the proper formation of passive voice constructions.
