Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention that your studies are in 'accounts and finance,' you could have elaborated more on how these specific skills would add value to your current role. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the structure is slightly repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that your ideas are fully extended rather than just stated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'Moreover, actually i have take' is awkward and disrupts the flow. Additionally, some sentences are run-on or lack clear logical connections, such as the transition between your availability and the government rules. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning of your request, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'better future' and 'really helpful.' There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'request you regarding' (should be 'request a change to my working hours') and 'inconveniace' (spelling error). To improve, try to incorporate more professional, business-appropriate terminology related to employment and professional development.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb tense ('i have take study'), capitalization ('i', 'friday'), and punctuation (comma splices). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors that slightly impede clarity. For example, 'i have only work as a part time' is grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement, consistent capitalization, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect verb forms.
