Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly state the reason for the request (pharmacy exam preparation), specify the desired working hours (Saturday to Monday, 4 pm to 10 pm), and offer a benefit to the employer by mentioning your flexibility for emergencies. However, the development of the third point is weak; you mention that the study is important for your career, but you do not explicitly explain how the employer benefits from your new knowledge or skills. To improve, you should elaborate on how your pharmacy studies might add value to the workplace, such as improved clinical knowledge or professional expertise.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Therefore' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'the information which i mentioned above is completely true,' which is unnecessary in a formal letter. The transition between the request for hours and the offer to help in emergencies is a bit abrupt. Using more varied linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your needs clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'availability,' 'schedule,' and 'assistance.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'proceeding the process towards execution of the test preparation,' which sounds unnatural and overly wordy. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise, professional language. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations that are appropriate for a formal business request.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with capitalization (e.g., 'i' instead of 'I') and punctuation. Some sentences are run-on or lack proper structure, such as 'this exam is really very important for my upcoming career, therefore, i request you...' which uses a comma splice. Additionally, there are minor errors in article usage and prepositional phrases. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and professional tone of the letter.
