Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the benefit of the course, the explanation regarding 'nursing protocols' and 'administration methods' could be more clearly linked to how it specifically improves your current performance at the retirement home. Despite this, the purpose of the letter is clear and the requirements are met.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. You use some basic cohesive devices such as 'As I am working' and 'Not only for me, but also for our company'. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and punctuation errors, such as the sentence fragment 'The reason for my request regarding to minimize my hours.' Improving the use of transition words and ensuring sentences are complete would enhance the overall readability and logical progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your request effectively. You use topic-specific terms like 'short-term course', 'nursing protocols', and 'administration methods'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'insted' instead of 'instead', 'avialable' instead of 'available', and 'continuous' used incorrectly as a verb. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To reach a higher band, focus on accurate spelling and more precise collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'request you for reducing' (should be 'request a reduction in'), 'I would be worked' (should be 'I would work'), and 'There are numerous benefit' (should be 'benefits'). Additionally, there are issues with sentence fragments and punctuation, such as the misuse of periods within sentences (e.g., '3.P.M.'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall accuracy of your writing.
