Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for the request, the preferred hours, and the benefits to the employer. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. The explanation of the benefits is quite brief and lacks sufficient detail to fully persuade the employer. Because the response is under-length, it fails to meet the basic requirements of the task, leading to a lower score in this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter lacks clear paragraphing, which makes the structure feel disjointed. While there is a logical progression of ideas, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and sometimes misused (e.g., 'further more atfer'). The lack of clear transitions between the introduction, the body, and the conclusion makes the letter feel like a single block of text rather than a formal piece of correspondence. To improve, you should use clear paragraph breaks for each distinct point and employ a wider range of linking words to connect your sentences more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and there are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'acadamic', 'weakes', 'thursady', 'markating', 'buisness', and 'considreation'. These errors are frequent and occasionally make the text difficult to read. The range of vocabulary is limited to simple, everyday words, and there is little attempt to use more sophisticated or topic-specific language related to professional requests. Improving your spelling and expanding your range of professional vocabulary will be essential for achieving a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The letter contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with sentence structure, punctuation, and verb tense consistency. For example, 'its to difficult' should be 'it is too difficult', and 'i hope you wold give attention' is grammatically awkward. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent, with missing capital letters at the start of sentences and improper spacing. The high frequency of errors throughout the text significantly hinders the clarity of your message.
