Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explain the reason for the request (a finance course), specify the desired hours (Tuesday to Friday, 3PM to 6PM), and outline the benefits to the employer (accelerated career growth and advanced finance strategies). The tone is appropriate for a formal request to a manager. The ideas are relevant and sufficiently developed to meet the requirements of the task. No parts of the prompt were omitted, and the purpose of the letter is clear from the outset.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a closing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the request, which helps the reader follow your argument easily. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Currently', 'The course offers', and 'I am looking forward to'. While the flow is logical, the use of linking words is somewhat repetitive and could be more varied to achieve a higher band. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the purpose, the details, and the proposed solution.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'formally request', 'pursue', and 'accelerate'. However, there are some spelling errors ('inrol' instead of 'enroll', 'advance' used as an adjective instead of 'advanced') and minor collocation issues. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the precision and variety of less common lexical items required for higher bands. Improving your spelling and ensuring the correct word forms are used will help elevate your score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'I am writing this letter to...' and 'The course offers... which will allow me to...'. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('It will helps me', 'which will allows me') and article usage ('as a assistant manager in company'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede the overall communication of your message. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring articles are used correctly before nouns.
