Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. The explanation of the benefits to the employer is quite vague, stating only that the study will lead to a 'good position' and 'earning' in the company, which lacks professional depth. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although some phrasing is slightly informal or awkward, such as 'survival job'. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific details about how your new skills will directly contribute to your current workplace.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'So', 'Because', and 'As', which serve to connect your ideas. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward sentence structures, such as the confusing time frame mentioned in the third paragraph ('12am to 10 pm'). The use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical, and the transition between the request and the justification could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that your time references are clear and logical would significantly improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive language, such as 'doing a job' and 'hard study'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I can able to do the work' (should be 'I will be able to') and 'Your help really mines a lots' (should be 'means a lot'). To improve, focus on using more professional collocations and avoiding informal phrasing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more specific business-related terminology would help you convey your message with greater clarity and impact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For example, 'I am doing a job as a clerk' is better expressed as 'I work as a clerk'. There are also issues with verb forms and tense consistency, such as 'I want that my working hours will be reduced' and 'I can able to'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors, such as the comma usage in the opening. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs, as these are foundational for clear, professional communication.
