Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how your studies benefit the company is a bit repetitive and could be more specific regarding how these skills would be applied in your current role. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with more concrete detail rather than just stating the intention.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'For instance', and 'Overall'. However, the transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To commence, why I want to reduce...'. The use of 'Eventually' to start the third paragraph is also misused, as it implies a final outcome rather than a logical progression of an argument. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, such as 'data analytics', 'forecast', and 'patterns'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'regarding to decrease my job hours' (should be 'regarding a reduction in my working hours') and 'these subjects are require for us' (should be 'required'). While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on correct collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing will improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I am doing part time study while doing work' (redundant), 'If i will do my work full time, i am not able to doing my study' (incorrect conditional structure and verb form), and 'could be able to consider' (redundant). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not prevent the message from being understood. To improve, focus on mastering conditional sentences and ensuring consistent verb forms.
