Dear sir,

I am writing to inform you regarding my working hours. I would like to tell you about my part time study which am doing now. So with that I can't mange full time job while studying. I want to request you to reduce my working hours to manage both studies and work at same time.

I would like to work in the morning hours so that I can study in the evening hours. I am currently studying accounts courses which can enhance my skills and provide company with successful projects. These courses enhance my productivity for professional growth. I can use this skills for your organization progress, which can lead to massive improvement in the tasks.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explain the reason for the request (part-time study), specify the desired working hours (mornings), and describe the benefits to the employer (enhanced skills and productivity). However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of how your studies benefit the company is quite general. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific details about how your accounting knowledge could be applied to your current tasks or projects. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager, and the purpose is clear throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, with each paragraph focusing on a specific part of the task. There is a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. You rely heavily on simple transitions like 'So' and 'Added to that'. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words and phrases to connect your ideas more fluidly, such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in addition to this'. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, but the flow between sentences could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You use basic terms such as 'tell', 'manage', and 'good'. While these words communicate your meaning effectively, they do not demonstrate a wide range of vocabulary. There are also some minor issues with word choice, such as 'accounts courses' (should be 'accounting courses') and 'organization progress' (should be 'organizational progress'). To improve, focus on using more precise professional terminology and collocations that are appropriate for a business context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. For instance, 'which am doing now' should be 'which I am doing now', and 'I can use this skills' should be 'I can use these skills'. Additionally, there are issues with article usage and verb agreement throughout the text. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of basic grammatical rules, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement and pluralization.
