Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sir,
I want to share my concern about working full-time as i just enrolled in part-time study and i cannot work more for hours. This course is very special for me for bright future so i want to give my best to get better grades.
I got the classes of monday and tuesday, during these days i can't make it to work. I glad to work except these days .
The course i took very beneficial for our company as we dealing with selling products , i subjects related to business development. Further more , i can get the credit of business marketing. This helps our business to get touch with today's need. Advanced marketing strategies can boost this business to peak level.
moreover, i will get the official certification of accountant , which bonus points, i can handle official work related to finance and payroll related work as we are always short with this kind of staff.
I glad to hear back with positive feedback.
Thanks
Angrej

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, although it leans slightly informal in places. The ideas are relevant, but the development is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the benefits of your studies, the explanation of how these skills would be applied in the workplace could be more detailed to fully convince your employer. Overall, the task is completed, but the depth of explanation could be improved to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'Further more' is used, but the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. The referencing is generally clear, but the lack of smooth transitions between the explanation of your studies and the benefits to the company makes the progression feel a bit abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'official certification', 'business development', and 'marketing strategies'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'I glad to work' (should be 'I am glad to work') and 'we are always short with this kind of staff' (should be 'short of'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that your word choices are grammatically sound.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include missing articles ('the' before 'business'), subject-verb agreement errors ('i subjects related to'), and punctuation mistakes, such as the incorrect placement of commas and the lack of capitalization for 'I'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for small errors like missing auxiliary verbs would help improve your accuracy.
