Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: the reason for the request, the preferred hours, and the benefits to the employer. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how the studies benefit the employer is vague, focusing more on the student's personal financial needs rather than professional value. While the purpose is clear, the tone is occasionally inconsistent with a formal request to a manager, and some ideas, such as the mention of 'cases', are not fully explained in the context of your role.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Moving further' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'Today, I am writing this letter in order to request regarding switch my work schedule'. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall progression of ideas could be smoother if you used a wider variety of linking words to connect your sentences more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your request clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'part-time', 'schedule', and 'organization'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'acquire the higher position degree' (instead of 'obtain a higher degree') and 'do strives' (instead of 'strive'). These errors do not prevent understanding, but they limit the range of vocabulary and indicate a need for more precise word usage to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I am Amrit and working as a process assistant' (missing subject/verb agreement), 'request regarding switch' (incorrect preposition/verb form), and 'please scheduled my shifts' (incorrect verb tense). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to affect the clarity of your message. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb forms after prepositions, and consistent tense usage.
