Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. While you attempt to address the bullet points, the content is severely underdeveloped. You mention the reason for reducing hours and the preferred schedule, but you completely fail to describe how your studies would benefit your employer, which is a key requirement of the prompt. Because the letter is incomplete and lacks the necessary depth to fulfill the task instructions, it falls into the lower band range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The letter lacks a clear structure or paragraphing. There is no formal closing, and the text ends abruptly mid-sentence. The use of cohesive devices is minimal, making the progression of ideas difficult to follow. The informal tone ('hi Sir') is also inappropriate for a formal request to an employer. To improve, you must organize your ideas into distinct paragraphs—one for the introduction, one for the request, one for the benefits, and a formal sign-off.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors such as 'rae' (are), 'arrangemnts' (arrangements), and 'th enew' (the new). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express your ideas with precision or professional tone. You rely on simple, everyday language and struggle to use collocations correctly, such as 'making hours adjusted'. Expanding your vocabulary to include more professional and formal terminology is essential for higher band scores.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

There are persistent grammatical errors throughout the short text. Examples include 'i couldnt able to', 'i ccan only ableto', and 'in in making'. These errors, combined with poor punctuation and capitalization, make the text difficult to read. You rely on simple sentence structures, and even these contain frequent errors in verb forms and modal usage. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common typos before attempting more complex structures.
