Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a supervisor. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of how your studies will benefit the employer is a bit repetitive and could be more professional. To improve, ensure that your arguments are fully expanded and that the connection between your studies and the daycare's success is articulated with more clarity and professional maturity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical structure, moving from the request to the specific details and finally to the benefits. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'As the result' to link ideas. However, the paragraphing is inconsistent, and some transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural. The flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors, which makes the progression of ideas feel a bit disjointed at times. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed theme would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your needs clearly. You use some relevant terms such as 'part-time', 'available', and 'professional life'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and minor errors, such as 'take the study' instead of 'pursue further studies' and 'openin' (a spelling error). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise professional collocations and ensure that your word forms are accurate. Expanding your range of vocabulary beyond basic terms will help you express your ideas with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb tenses ('I worked as a teacher... But, now I am going to'), subject-verb agreement, and punctuation (e.g., 'Beacuse, of this'). Additionally, there are errors with prepositions and articles. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. Focusing on basic sentence construction, correct verb tense usage, and proofreading for punctuation errors will significantly improve your accuracy.
