Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, specifying the desired hours, and describing the benefits to the employer. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat brief. For instance, while you mention the course is related to HVAC, you could have elaborated more on how the specific skills gained would translate into immediate value for the company. The letter is functional and meets the requirements of the task, but further expansion on the benefits would have strengthened the persuasive element of your request.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter follows a logical structure, with a clear introduction, body, and closing. Paragraphing is used to separate the request from the justification. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition to this' and 'Therefore' to link your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally slightly mechanical. The transition between the request for hours and the explanation of the course could be smoother. Overall, the message is easy to follow, and the progression of ideas is clear throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using topic-specific terms like 'HVAC operations' and 'technical education'. There are some spelling errors, such as 'aquire' (acquire), 'kno' (knowledge), 'allote' (allot), and 'yoru' (your). These errors are noticeable but do not impede the reader's understanding of your request. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise word choices and ensure greater accuracy in spelling, as these minor slips currently limit the score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the conditional 'if you allote... I would be able to'. There are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'available whole day' (available all day) and 'greatly help me working' (greatly help me work). Additionally, there is a missing word in 'working on same kind of projects' (the same kind). While these errors are present, they do not cause confusion or impede communication. The sentence structures are generally functional, but more variety and closer attention to articles and prepositions would improve the accuracy.
