Dear ....................................,

Student answer (Band 8.0)

Dear Mr. Smith,

I am writing to request a reduction in my working hours because I would like to begin studying part-time to improve my professional skills and qualifications.

Currently, I work five days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. I would like to reduce my schedule to four days a week, preferably Monday to Thursday, while continuing to work full days. This arrangement would allow me to attend my classes on Fridays and complete my studies without affecting my work responsibilities.

I believe my part-time studies would also benefit the company. The course will help me develop stronger communication, management and problem-solving skills. I would be able to apply this new knowledge to my daily work and potentially take on additional responsibilities in the future. I will also make sure that my current duties are completed properly before my days off.

I would be grateful if you could consider my request. I am happy to discuss the proposed schedule with you and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that the team is not affected.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Daksh
