Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly state the reason for the request (enrolling in a pharmacy assistant course), specify the desired working hours (weekends and Thursday afternoons), and explain the benefits to your employer (gaining practical knowledge in health and safety). The tone is appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is slightly hindered by some confusing phrasing, such as the repetitive and unclear sentence regarding your schedule: 'Following work with study and be able to work.' Despite these minor lapses in clarity, the purpose of the letter is fully achieved.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'consequently' and 'not only... but also', to link ideas. However, there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing or missing words, such as 'popularing the present scenario' and the fragmented sentence structure in the second paragraph. The referencing is occasionally unclear, which makes the progression of ideas feel slightly mechanical at times. Improving the transition between sentences would help the text flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'healthcare sector', 'high-demand category', and 'practical learning'. However, there are several spelling errors ('popularing', 'availabiliry', 'pharmary', 'aut') and word choice issues ('wouldkoper' instead of 'would prefer'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise vocabulary and ensure that common words are spelled correctly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('in short-term pharmacy assistant course'), incorrect prepositions, and punctuation issues. Some sentences are grammatically incomplete or confusing, such as 'As, being a pharmary assistant I would get practical learning...'. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors suggests a lack of control over more complex sentence forms. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence construction will significantly improve your accuracy.
