Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt: the reason for the request, the preferred schedule, and the benefits to the employer. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a manager. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of how the nursing assistant course benefits the clinic is brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on how your new skills will specifically improve the clinic's operations or patient care. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the reader is left in no doubt about your request.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your request. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Moreover' and 'Due to', which are effective. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions could be smoother. For instance, the transition between your study schedule and the benefits to the employer could be better linked. Paragraphing is used correctly to separate the different points of the letter, which is a positive feature of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message clearly. Words like 'beneficial', 'practical knowledge', and 'internship' are relevant to the context. However, there are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'regarding to switch' (should be 'regarding switching') and 'will be aid me' (should be 'will aid me'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more formal business-related phrases would improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'I am looking forward to join' (should be 'to joining'), 't work' (typo), and 'will beneficial you' (should be 'will be beneficial to you'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but there are some missing articles and minor errors in verb forms. These errors occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band score, though they do not cause significant confusion for the reader.
